A poem and a prayer

In the darkness of the night

In the sickness of the heart

In the lowness of the spirit

and in the coldness of the hearth

No man for long can stand

alone among these things

he needs another's hand

but beware what others bring?

In the raging of revenge

in the hate that brings forth war

in the battles amongst men

and the fire of envy's door

No man for long can stand,

alone among these things

he needs another's hand

but what other can this mean?

In the Light that gives the day,

in the Source that gives men health,

in the One who gives the Spirit

and in the Warmth that gives men Life

No man for long can stand,

alone among these things,

all men instead must kneel down in prayer

Amen, so let it be.

To the God of all, all men give praise,

for him who gives us endless days,

glory, honor, love, and song,

to he who lends us Love so long,

to God the Father, and the Son,

and Holy Spirit ever blessed,

may we to you give endless glory,

and in you find eternal rest.

Amen.
